These MCUs are ideal for low-cost networking applications. They integrate
the IT800 power line modem developed by YITRAN, which provides communication
over power lines using the 120 kHz to 400 kHz (FCC, ARIB) or 20 kHz to 80 kHz
(CENELEC A) or 95 kHz to 125 kHz (CENELEC B) frequency band and achieves data
transfer rates of up to 7.5 kbps. The IT800 technology has been standardized by
HomePlug Command and Control, and Echonet. The MCUs can run a software library
for the Data Link Layer (layer 2 of the OSI model) for “Protocol agnostic”
solution, and a software library for the Network Layer (layer 3 of the OSI
model) e.g. for AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) or Street lighting applications.
Maximum operating frequency is 15.36 MHz when using a PLL Synthesizer. A 64-pin
package is available.
